Welcome to my personal homepage

My name is Minarul Islam. I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University. My research focuses on reliable and context-aware machine learning for natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and AI for cybersecurity.

My dissertation focuses on Reliable and Context-Aware Sentiment Analysis under Linguistic Complexity. I study how language models behave when text contains contrast, irony, implicit meaning, aspect-specific opinion, and domain shift.

My broader goal is to build AI systems that are accurate, careful under uncertainty, interpretable, and useful in real-world settings. You can download my full CV here.
